The freshest work by Philadelphia-based artist Rebecca Miller. Rebecca's fanciful designs and imaginative creations often delve into the magical shimmering quality of subjects so unassuming as weeds, cracks, and crumpled paper. She gives the suggestion of fairytale in simple depictions of grass, without straying into literal visualizations of fantasy. In building up arch-ways, mounds, and hillsides out of collections of smaller paintings, Rebecca suggests an architectural presence for her 2-D work. Portraiture and figurative work form a concurrent focus for the artist. Rebecca is currently in the midst of her MFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
